Experience the magic of the jewel of the Coromandel Peninsula! Cathedral Cove is one of the most popular summer spots for kiwis and international visitors, with the amazing natural archway, pristine beaches, safe swimming, and stunning snorkelling.
Visiting this spot in the height of summer though can be quite a mission, with a park and ride option from Hahei township or a long walk uphill being the only ways to get to the start of the trail – unless you take a helicopter!
Skip the infamous Coromandel traffic and the queue for the van, and land right on nature’s doorstep. Our landing spot is a short 15 minutes’ walk down to the famous beach and 25 minute walk back up to the Helicopter.
The helicopter flight across to Cathedral Cove takes about 25-30 minutes, and on the way you will see some of the islands of the Hauraki Gulf including Motuihe, Waiheke and Ponui, before crossing the Firth of Thames and the rugged peaks of the Coromandel Range.
For a more extensive tour of the Coromandel, you can add a stop at Cathedral Cove to our stunning 90 minute scenic flight which includes more islands, around the tip of the peninsula at Port Jackson, New Chums beach, Matarangi, Opito Bay and Cooks Beach.
This trip is a truly unique and stress-free way to experience one of New Zealand’s most scenic spots.
