How many people can fit in a helicopter?
Our Airbus H130 can seat up to 6 passengers (weight dependent), plus the pilot. Our Bell 206 Jet Ranger can accommodate up to 3 passengers (weight dependent), plus the pilot.
Are there any age restrictions for flying?
There are no age restrictions for our flights. However, if you are bringing an infant and intend to carry them on your lap, we are legally required to leave a seat unoccupied.
When should I arrive for my flight?
Please check in at our office at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.
Where is Heli Me located?
Our main office and heliport are located at:
1 Solent Street, Mechanics Bay, Auckland 1010
We also operate from various airfields and private locations around New Zealand. Please contact us to discuss alternative pickup or landing points.
What days do you operate?
We are open 7 days a week, all year round, except for Christmas Day, when we are closed.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We will get in touch with you if the weather is going to impact your flight. In the case that Heli Me has to cancel your flight, you will be entitled to a refund or credit. Please see our refund policy for more information.
Do you offer night flights?
No. All our flights operate during daylight hours only.
What information do you need from passengers?
By law, we are required to collect each passenger’s full name and accurate body weight before the flight.
When should I make a booking?
We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time.
For last-minute bookings, give us a call and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Landing at Vineyards on Waiheke Island must be booked in advance, as they are limited and subject to their availability.
Will I share the helicopter with other passengers?
No. All our flights are private, so you’ll never share your helicopter with anyone outside your group.
Do you offer pickups from Auckland Airport?
Yes. We can collect you from our exclusive helipad, located less than 10 minutes' drive from Auckland Airport terminals. If needed, we can also arrange transport between the terminal and our helipad.
Is parking available at Heli Me?
Yes. Free parking is available for Heli Me customers directly in front of our office.
Are there any health restrictions for flying?
We do not have any specific health restrictions. If you have concerns about flying, we recommend speaking with your GP or medical professional beforehand.
What are your rules and expectations around passenger behaviour?
At Heli Me, safety is our top priority. We reserve the right to refuse service or remove any passenger whose behaviour presents a risk to the safety or wellbeing of the aircraft, crew, or passengers onboard. Reasons could include, but are not limited to:
- Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Failing to follow instructions from pilots or ground staff
- Using threatening or abusive language toward staff or other passengers
- Acting in an aggressive, disruptive, or disorderly manner
- Interfering with crew duties or flight operations
- Putting the safety of the aircraft or any person onboard at risk
- Being in a physical or mental condition that poses a danger to themselves or others
- Smoking or consuming alcohol onboard the aircraft
If a pilot or crew member considers any behaviour unsafe or disruptive, Heli Me may:
- Refuse to board the passenger
- Remove the passenger from the aircraft
- Terminate the flight
- Report the incident to appropriate authorities where necessary
